Business Insider is hiring an Art Director to join our Brand Marketing team, serving the Events and BI Studios teams to lead and execute integrated creative campaigns across branded content, brand marketing, and experiential initiatives. As an Art Director, you will concept, design, and execute visual systems that power custom branded content, marketing initiatives, and experiential activations. Reporting to a hands-on Creative Director, this is a hands-on senior leadership role that combines high-level conceptual thinking with day-to-day execution. You will play a critical role within BI Studios, shaping the visual direction of custom content programs, native advertising, and integrated brand partnerships. This includes developing campaign concepts, pitch materials, and scalable design systems that translate across editorial-style storytelling, interactive experiences, social extensions, and event environments. This role has significant ownership and visibility across revenue-driving initiatives. You will regularly present creative concepts to clients and senior stakeholders, clearly articulating design rationale and creative vision. You will also lead and mentor designers, freelancers, and contractors, ensuring a high standard of craft and consistency across all deliverables. This position reports directly to the Creative Director and sits within the Brand Marketing team, and serves the Events and BI Studios group. This position is based in our New York City HQ with an in-office presence of at least 2 days per week.

Requirements

  • Demonstrable knowledge of integrated campaign development across digital and experiential platforms
  • Previous experience with Adobe Creative Suite; Figma proficiency preferred
  • Working knowledge of HTML, CSS, and Webflow
  • Strong conceptual thinking and visual communication skills
  • Experience managing designers, freelancers, and contractors
  • Ability to communicate clearly and concisely, present to senior stakeholders and clients, and confidently articulate creative vision
  • Sound creative judgment and the ability to balance innovation with brand standards

  • Experience within a branded content or custom content studio environment
  • Experience collaborating with or supporting live events teams

Responsibilities

  • Lead the visual development of integrated branded content programs within Insider Studios, from pitch through execution
  • Concept and execute cross-channel campaigns spanning digital storytelling, native advertising, marketing communications, and live events
  • Partner closely with the Creative Director and cross-functional teams to translate strategy into compelling creative systems
  • Develop campaign toolkits that extend across editorial-style content, social, presentations, environmental graphics, and experiential activations
  • Present creative concepts clearly and persuasively to clients and senior stakeholders, articulating vision, rationale, and executional approach
  • Oversee and mentor designers, freelancers, and contractors while managing multiple high-priority projects
  • Ensure all creative work aligns with the client's brand standards and Business Insider guidelines
