About The Position

The NCCU Department of Art and Design has an immediate need for adjunct faculty in Animation & [Digital] Game Design. The ideal candidate(s) will have a master’s degree, professional experience, as well as a passion for teaching. These adjunct professors will prepare students for careers in the field through in-person lecture or computer-based learning, critiques, and exposure to traditional and cutting-edge creative approaches. In the Spring 2026 semester, the selected adjunct(s) will be responsible for instruction in one or both of the following courses: ARTV 3450 – Level Design (3 credits) Students explore the art and methodology of level design, focusing on industry-standard tools, workflows, and design principles used in RPGs, console games, and modern interactive worlds. ARTV 4520 – Team Production (3 credits) A capstone-style experience for Animation and Interactive Media students. This course simulates real studio production—students collaborate to create a video game, animated short, or interactive experience using professional pipelines. Opportunities to teach may be available in future semesters. Course options, availability and schedules can vary each semester.
