About The Position

The Primary Care ARNP provides routine medical care in a 70-bed involuntary inpatient psychiatric facility. Requirements

  • A graduate degree from an advanced nursing education program accredited by a national nursing accreditation body recognized by the United States Department of Education
  • An active Washington state RN license, without sanctions or restrictions
  • State NP license
  • Current CME hours to maintain licensure
  • Family Medicine Certification of Completion from the American Nurse Credentialing Center or the American Association of Nurse Practitioners
  • Registration capability with the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services.
  • An active Drug Enforcement Agency (DEA) license
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification

Responsibilities

  • Perform routine H&Ps for every new admission
  • Assess and manage medical conditions, including acute complaints and chronic illnesses
  • Complete Treatment Plan goals for medical care as part of an interdisciplinary team
  • Consult with psychiatric providers regarding co-occurring psychiatric and medical conditions
  • Prescribe, monitor, and evaluate results of prescribed medications
  • Order and interpret laboratory tests as required for medical care
  • Provide substance withdrawal management as needed
  • Accurately and appropriately document medical care provided
  • Implement antimicrobial stewardship practices
  • Perform other duties as assigned
