About The Position

Comprehensive Life Resources is looking for a qualified Advanced Registered Nurse Practitioner to join their team in Tacoma, Washington. This position supports their adult residential facility, Park Place, as well as their Adult Outpatient program, both in Tacoma, WA. The ARNP will work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team to assess, diagnose, and treat mental health disorders, ensuring the highest quality of care and support for their residents and clients. The role involves providing quality, evidence-based psychiatric services to adults suffering from mental illness or co-occurring disorders and serving as a member of an organization that welcomes, engages, and serves individuals with complex wellness needs.

Requirements

  • WA State Licensed Registered Nurse.
  • WA State Advanced Registered Nurse Practitioner with prescriptive authority.
  • National Certification as Psychiatric and Mental Health Nurse Practitioner.
  • Have a current DEA number.
  • If child certified, must be credentialed.
  • Must apply to be credentialed with all Center contracted payors.
  • Must have working knowledge of the principles of the development, implementation, and documentation of individualized care and treatment.
  • Must have working knowledge of State and Federal laws and professional standards related to psychiatric treatment.
  • Must have ability to evaluate patients, set up and carry out an effective course of treatment utilizing the expertise of other clinical personnel with a minimum of direction.
  • Must have proficiency with standard Microsoft Office applications and EMR systems.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct psychiatric examinations and review collateral information of assigned patients in accordance with Department of Behavioral Health (DBHR) and WAC guidelines, and Best Practices.
  • Prescribe psychotropic medications using Electronic Prescribing System (EPS) to treat psychiatric illness; order labs in accordance with Best Practice guidelines.
  • Comply with Center's EMR requirements as established and modified from time to time.
  • Conduct regular reviews (and revisions as needed) of treatment plans and provides DSM V diagnoses on all assigned patients as required by Program and state regulatory protocols.
  • Incorporate, when appropriate, limited supportive psychotherapy for patients.
  • Become part of a treatment team with nurses, other prescribers, case managers, support staff, clinicians’ administration and management teams.
  • Evaluate urgent psychiatric patients in a competent and timely manner.
  • Complies consistently with commitment laws.
  • Be familiar with physician's certificates or other documentation for involuntary treatment in accordance with applicable laws and the Mental Health Code.
  • Identify medical concerns that warrant referral to a primary care provider or other specialist.
  • Adhere to Medicaid and third-party billing documentation requirements and credentialing.
  • Engagement in active supervision by the Medical Director.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
  • Demonstrates a comprehensive psychiatric evaluation to include chief complaint, psychiatric history, health history, medication history, substance use, family history for clients.
  • Ensures mental status examination are completed.
  • Develop and document appropriate DSM V diagnosis.
  • Demonstrates the ability to assess and document risk.
  • Develop plan of care.
  • Ensures appropriate laboratory studies are ordered and follows up on results of all studies.
  • Demonstrate effective communication both orally and in writing.
  • Ensure documentation and assessments are completed in a time manner, and meeting required content.
  • Demonstrates appropriate boundaries and values.
  • Demonstrates professional demeanor, behavior, and communication.
  • Promote whole health care as a key to people's recovery and quality of life.
  • Demonstrate empathy, hopefulness, and resourcefulness in communication with others.
