About The Position

The Army C-12 / King Air Transport Aircraft Mechanic (FAA A&P) Performs organizational and intermediate level maintenance on Army C-12 / King Air 200/350/1900 aircraft. A valid FAA A&P Certificate is Required. Union CBA provides 3 levels of A&P experience based on years of hands-on maintenance experience on the assigned aircraft C-12/ King Air (B200/350/1900/ PT6). US Citizenship is Required to obtain the US Govt Secret Clearance and for facility/base access at this site location. Responsible for servicing, troubleshooting, repairing and modifying aircraft systems to ensure continued airworthiness. These tasks are performed on avionics & electrical systems, engines, flight controls and airframe components. Repairs are performed using hand tools, power tools, machines, and equipment such as shears, sheet metal brake, welding equipment, rivet gun, and drills. Comply with aircraft records procedures outlined in DA PAM 738-751. Know and understand the functions and requirements of computerized maintenance software. Perform aircraft recovery missions as necessary. Perform engine run or taxi operations. Meet requirement to obtain certification within Twelve (12) months of employment. Reads and interprets manufacturers' maintenance manuals, service bulletins, and other specifications to determine feasibility and method of repairing or replacing malfunctioning or damaged components. Perform all other position-related duties as assigned or requested.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED Equivalent is Required.
  • A valid (FAA) A&P Certificate is Required.
  • Union CBA Site offers 3 levels of A&P mechanic employment, based on the number of specific years of A&P experience on the MDS Army C-12/King Air B200/350/1900, PT6 aircraft assigned.
  • AM-1- Two (2) Years of A&P mechanic experience Required, with a minimum of two (2) years specific C-12/King Air hands-on experience preferred.
  • AM-2 - Five (5) years of C-12/King Air specific hands-on A&P aircraft mechanic experience is required.
  • AM-3 - Ten (10) years of FAA A&P mechanic experience, and Thirteen (13) years of specific C-12/King Air aircraft experience is required.
  • Must have the ability to move freely about the interior and in the unpressurized area aft of the aft pressure bulkhead and meet aircraft specific specs for weight limit.
  • A valid Driver's License is Required.
  • Shift Work Required: Must be willing and able to work any shift assigned, per the Union CBA. May be required to work an occasional rotating weekend, when required by the flight schedule.
  • (Site currently operates Two shifts: First Shift - 0600-1430 and Second shift-1400 - 2230. Shifts will be bid and assigned by seniority).
  • Must be able to obtain a Secret Clearance and able to pass/clear the (AR-95-20) Pre-employment Medical. (details below).
  • Medical/Physical. All personnel performing engine runs, ground taxi, ordnance loading, or operating self-propelled support equipment within Ten (10) feet of the aircraft silhouette must pass a physical examination from a qualified medical professional prior to conducting these operations, and subsequently on a specified periodic basis, not to exceed Five (5) years. (BMI Body Mass Index below 40 is required).
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a US Govt Secret Security Clearance. US Citizenship is Required to obtain a US Govt Security Clearance, and for facility credentials, base access and authorization to work at this site/facility.
  • Possesses a valid FAA Aircraft & Powerplant (A&P) license and shows compliance with FAR 65.83, recent experience requirements.
  • Must be able to speak, read, write and understand English.
  • Reliable, self-motivated, and able to deal with stressful situations and timelines while maintaining professional and non-confrontational attitude.
  • Stand, squat, sit, walk, work with arms overhead for extended periods of time.
  • Pull, push, lift up to 50 lbs.
