As a Security Officer Armed Field Patrol in Surry, VA, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Government. Requirements

  • Possess an armed guard card or license.
  • Be at least 21 years of age.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • Subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
  • Meet state and/or local licensing requirements prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to visitors, employees, and/or the public by carrying out assigned procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at a government transportation location.
  • Respond to incidents, alarms, traffic-related concerns, and/or critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner while documenting observations and reporting activity through appropriate channels.
  • Conduct regular and random armed patrols of buildings, grounds, parking areas, road access points, and perimeter locations to help identify unusual activity and/or potential security-related concerns.
  • Monitor entry points, verify authorized access, and interact professionally with staff, contractors, and/or visitors while following post orders and government location protocols.
  • Support incident response by preparing clear reports, communicating with supervisors and/or public agencies as needed, and helping to maintain order during routine operations and elevated situations.
