As an unarmed Patrol Officer in a busy healthcare location, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, conduct routine rounds, and stay visible to help to deter security-related incidents while providing clear communication and customer service to patients, visitors, and staff. This is a driving post requiring a valid driver’s license under AU Driver Policy Requirements. Requirements

  • Have 1+ years' armed security-related, law enforcement, and/or military experience.
  • A valid driver’s license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to patients, visitors, and staff by following security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities within a hospital location.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including de-escalation support and timely notification of hospital staff and/or public emergency services as directed.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols of assigned areas, including interior corridors, entrances, parking areas, and the perimeter, with working environments and conditions that may vary by post.
  • Control access to restricted areas by monitoring doors and visitor flow, assisting with wayfinding, and documenting unusual activity according to site requirements.
  • Complete detailed reports of incidents, patrol activity, and other security-related observations, and communicate information to Allied Universal supervision and site contacts as needed.
