As an armed patrol officer at a utilities location, you will drive between assigned areas, conduct routine patrols, and stay highly visible to help to deter security-related incidents. You will respond to calls for service, document activity, and communicate clearly with site teams and visitors while providing strong customer service. Requirements

  • Have 1+ years' armed security, law enforcement, and/or military experience.
  • Be 21+ years of age.
  • A valid driver’s license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
  • Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Nice To Haves

  • Handcuffs, pepper spray, and/or baton experience is preferred.
  • An armed guard card and/or license is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to site personnel and visitors by following security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and/or emergency response activities as directed.
  • Carry and maintain assigned authorized equipment in accordance with licensing requirements, post orders, and Allied Universal guidelines.
  • Conduct regular and random armed patrols of utility facilities, grounds, access roads, and perimeter areas to help to deter unauthorized activity and/or property damage.
  • Respond to alarms, incidents, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, coordinating with site contacts and/or public responders as needed.
  • Complete security-related reports and logs, document incidents and observations, and communicate status updates to site leadership and/or the Allied Universal chain of command.
