As an armed patrol officer at a government location, you will conduct routine vehicle patrols and visible presence checks, helping to deter security-related incidents while supporting daily operations. This is a driving post requiring a valid driver’s license and an armed guard card or license. You will respond to calls for service, document observations, and communicate professionally with staff and visitors, delivering with integrity through teamwork in Allied Universal’s caring culture.

Requirements

  • Have 1 or more years of armed security-related experience and/or law enforcement experience and/or military experience.
  • Possess an armed guard card and/or license.
  • A valid driver’s license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
  • Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to visitors and staff at a government location by carrying out post orders, access control procedures, and site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
  • Patrol assigned areas and perimeter by foot and/or vehicle, helping to deter unauthorized activity and reporting unusual conditions in accordance with site procedures.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including de-escalation, coordinating with on-site contacts, and requesting public agency assistance when needed.
  • Operate in an armed post in accordance with licensing requirements, training, and use-of-force guidelines, maintaining control of issued equipment and documenting security-related actions.
  • Complete detailed reports and logs for patrols, incidents, and other security-related activities, and communicate timely updates to Allied Universal leadership and site representatives.
