As an Armed Patrol Officer with Allied Universal at a government location, you will conduct routine foot and vehicle-area patrols, maintain a visible presence to help to deter security-related incidents, and respond to calls for assistance with calm, clear communication. You will also support access control and badge checks while delivering customer service with integrity, teamwork, and a people-first mindset in an agile, reliable, and innovative environment.

Requirements

  • Have at least 1+ years' armed security-related, law enforcement, and/or military experience.
  • Possess an Armed Guard Card/License.
  • Be 21+ years of age.
  • Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to visitors and staff while carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at a government location.
  • Perform armed patrol duties, including regular and random patrols of buildings, courtyards, parking areas, and perimeter points to help to deter unwanted activity and identify potential concerns.
  • Monitor access points and screening areas as assigned, verify identification and/or authorization, and direct visitors according to posted rules and site procedures.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, coordinating with site representatives and public responders as needed.
  • Document patrol activity, incidents, and observations in written reports and logs, and maintain required equipment and firearms handling in accordance with Allied Universal and site policies.
