About The Position

KRE Security, LLC is hiring a professional and highly responsible Armed School Security Officer for a full-time elementary school assignment in Palmerton, PA. This position plays a critical role in maintaining a safe, secure, and welcoming environment for students, staff, and visitors. This is a structured, school-based post that requires strong judgment, professionalism, and the ability to remain calm, alert, and approachable throughout the school day.

Requirements

• Current ACT 235 certification (required if applicable to jurisdiction)
• Minimum 21 years of age preferred
• High school diploma or GED required
• Prior armed security, law enforcement, or military experience strongly preferred
• Strong communication and de-escalation skills
• Professional appearance and demeanor at all times
• Ability to remain alert and engaged in a school environment
• Must pass background check and all required school clearances
• Reliable transportation and punctuality required
• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods

Nice To Haves

• Prior armed security, law enforcement, or military experience strongly preferred

Responsibilities

• Maintain a professional armed security presence on school grounds
• Monitor and control access at school entrances
• Verify identification and properly screen all visitors, vendors, and contractors
• Ensure all entry procedures follow school safety protocols
• Conduct regular patrols of hallways, entrances, and exterior areas
• Support arrival, dismissal, and student transition periods
• Respond immediately and appropriately to safety concerns or incidents
• Coordinate professionally with school administration, faculty, and staff
• Complete accurate daily activity and incident reports
• Enforce school safety policies and post orders at all times
• Assist during emergency situations, drills, lockdowns, and evacuations
