About The Position

Our Security Officers protect schools in the district against fire, theft, vandalism, and illegal entry by performing the following duties: First responder to any and all events that occur on campus property. Patrol the assigned campus both inside the buildings and the perimeter. Be highly visible on campus with a focus on before and after school and at lunch. Maintain external security of the buildings. Make recommendations to correct identified security issues on campus. Observe arrival and departure of students. Ensure that no unauthorized individuals gain access to the campus. Work with the staff to intervene in situations that can cause disruptions of the learning environment. Monitors video surveillance at the school. Becomes a part of the school threat assessment team. Develops and fosters communication with the patrolling law enforcement agency that serves their school. Communicates regularly with the site administration as well as the direct supervisor. Completes other assigned duties.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or General Education Degree (GED)
  • Minimum of 21 years of age
  • Ability to pass criminal background check and drug test
  • Law Enforcement or Military Police 5 years
  • Reliable phone & transportation
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills
  • Good work history
  • Proof of U.S. citizenship or lawful resident status
  • Valid driver's license
  • Supporting I-9 documents
