The Area Trainer's primary responsibility is to deliver person-centered training to the workforce, individuals, and community partners across all service lines. This training aims to enhance the quality and care provided, aligning with the organization's purpose of helping people with developmental disabilities achieve their full potential. The role involves close collaboration with local operational leadership, clinical services & quality team, compliance team, and learning & development. The trainer will utilize standard operating practices, adhere to local regulations, apply adult learning principles, and leverage technology. Key duties include providing in-person training on person-centered care, services, and job-specific topics like Legal Rights/Guardianship, HIPPA/Confidentiality, Rights Restriction/Suspension, Overview of DD, Behavioral Interventions (Safety care), and Basics of PCSP’s for new hires and Host Home Providers. The role also involves active treatment training for ISLs, supporting DSPs, assisting program managers, and participating in various team meetings and calls. The trainer will provide training on PCSPs, Infection Control, documentation procedures, and EMAR, supplementing Relias courses with onsite support. They will offer OJT training for supported living managers on onboarding Supervisors and DSPs, and support quality Plan of Correction (POC) for re-training on ANEs, MANES, GERs, etc., liaising with L&D for in-person training needs like wheelchair tiedown processes. The Area Trainer will serve as a Missouri subject matter expert for Therap and Therap training for new staff and providers (T-Logs, shift notes, activity logs). Additionally, the role involves attending operations stand-ups, creating training materials, tracking training completion, and acting as an SME for Therap, Sharepoint, MSTeams Suite, G/L, and Relias. They will train on processes and standardization as directed by ADs and AVP, assist Area Directors with training issues for Managers of Residential Operations, and support staff in house meetings. The trainer will also train new staff and Host Home Providers on Attendance Billing, coordinate with Training & Development, provide Safety Care Training, First Aid/CPR instruction, and upload certificates/records to Relias. They will also be an SME for SharePoint, TEAMs, and Microsoft Products for employees and providers, and work with the AVP on process improvement through training efforts across the state.
