About The Position

As Area Sales Manager, you will be responsible for all Group and Business Travel, from an assigned territory, for a portfolio of (9) gorgeous hotels and resort in Key Largo and Key West, Florida. The Area Sales Manager will be responsible for actively strategizing and closing each business opportunity and be aggressive in targeting new business. The successful candidate will: · Respond to all phone & electronic group opportunities within company standards · Ensure all business booked is within hotel parameters · Create proposals, contracts, and other documents as required. Manages and maintain account files in CRM. · Build and strengthen relationships with new and existing clients via outside calls, solicitations, and cold calls. This position requires both reactive and proactive initiatives. · Conduct weekly pro-active solicitations · Manage time effectively between the regional sales office, visits to the hotels, and sales calls. · Understand the overall market for each hotel, competitors’ strengths and weaknesses, economic trends, supply and demand, and know how to sell against your competition. · Uses negotiating skills and creative selling abilities to close on business and negotiate contracts. · Develop and maintain good relationships with officials and representatives of local community/chamber groups and CVB. · Attend out of town tradeshows and conventions as needed. · Assists with organization of sales blitzes as needed · Adheres to all company SOPs affiliated with job role. · Completes action plans · Cross sells other hotels in the portfolio when applicable. · Effectively use sales resources and administrative/support staff.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree preferred; however, any combination of education and training within hotel sales may also be considered.
  • Minimum 2-3 years hotel sales preferred in a property of 100 rooms or more.
  • Ability to qualify and effectively close business.
  • Must possess strong communication skills, problem solving skills, and be a self-motivated contributor.
  • Professional demeanor, relationship focused, and exceptional detail in follow up and organizational skills.
  • Must have experience with proactive initiatives including outside sales calls, solicitations and cold calls.
  • Must have a strong understanding of pipeline fulfillment.
  • Strong computer skills to include Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Opera, Delphi and/or CI/TY.
