This is an exciting opportunity in the US Central Region (eastern Missouri, southern Illinois, western Tennessee, eastern Arkansas, and Mississippi) for an Area Sales Manager! Learn more about this role and how you can begin driving your career forward! The Area Sales Manager (ASM) is responsible for developing customer and dealer relationships to grow Allison business. The ASM will develop and implement annual sales plans crafted to achieve Allison’s business objectives. The ASM will play a key role in providing real time market trends, voice of the customer, and relevant business development input to facilitate key business decision making by senior leadership. The ASM will align with and work closely with Allison Distributors to support growth across all business segments.

Requirements

  • Minimum 5 years of experience, preferably in the commercial truck industry
  • Previous sales or customer support experience or Allison related experience
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Demonstrated high level of interpersonal skills
  • Highly self-motivated
  • Ability to demonstrate functional and technical excellence
  • Ability to work collaboratively across multiple functions to achieve sales objectives and goals
  • Ability to travel on a regular basis for company business
  • Demonstrated ability to build valued business relationships
  • Organized, detail oriented, and able to handle multiple priorities
  • Bachelor's degree

  • Proficiency with computer software and operating systems appropriate to position

Responsibilities

  • Development and execution of area sales plans and activities designed to increase demand for Allison products.
  • Identification and pursuit of incremental sales volume in targeted markets.
  • Management and implementation of key growth initiatives and programs
  • Become a valuable resource for customers, OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer) dealers, and distributors through training, support, and vehicle specification and develop long term relationships
  • Development and execution of sales presentations to dealers, distributors, and end-user customers
  • Completion of vehicle application analysis to insure proper product utilization and optimization
  • Management and implementation of key growth initiatives and programs
  • Represent Allison at Industry trade shows and exhibits, and Industry Associations and Meetings
  • Reporting of real time market dynamics and competitive updates to support forecasting efforts
  • Provide a high level of customer support thereby influencing customer enthusiasm for Allison products
  • Development of relationships and growth opportunities with channel partners
  • Development of product knowledge and the advantages of Allison products
  • Development of local market knowledge
  • Ability to work cross functionally to provide superior/unrivaled, customer support to fleets
  • Other duties as assigned
