About The Position

The Area Revenue Analyst will work directly with the Commercial Leadership team and property management teams to maximize room revenue across a portfolio of hotels. This role focuses on optimizing room inventory, pricing strategies, and market mix across multiple distribution channels. The analyst will help develop revenue-generating strategies tailored to each property’s unique market conditions and brand requirements, with the goal of enhancing profitability and overall performance. The position will be property based at Kimpton Era Midtown New York while also remotely supporting Canopy Deer Valley.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 2 years experience in hospitality, preferably Hotel Management
  • Bachelor’s Degree Preferred
  • Strong sales and negotiation skills
  • Exceptional communication, interpersonal and presentation skills
  • Proven leadership and team management experience
  • Ability to adapt and thrive in a fast-paced environment

  • In-depth knowledge of hospitality industry reporting, regulations, and best practices
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Teams).
  • Strong understanding of sales systems (Delphi), property management systems (PMS such as OperaCloud and PEP), revenue management systems (RMS: N2 and IDEAS) and industry reports such as STR, Demand 360, OTA Insight and other relevant software.

Responsibilities

  • Revenue Reporting & Data Analysis: Prepare and distribute accurate, daily, weekly, and monthly revenue reports, including market segmentation, source contribution, and daily pick-up analysis
  • Analyze industry measurement tools (STR, OTA Insight, Demand 360 etc.) to identify revenue opportunities and market trends
  • Monitor local events and market activities to project demand impacts and maximize seasonal opportunities
  • Audit daily Flash Reports and preferred guest program production to ensure data integrity.
  • Systems Management & Maintenance: Perform regular audits and maintenance on PMS, CRS, RMS, and Sales & Catering systems to ensure content accuracy.
  • Manage rate loading and inventory maintenance across all distribution platforms.
  • Update Minimum Acceptable Rates (MARs) in Delphi (or relevant S&C systems) to guide the sales team’s pricing decisions.
  • Conduct monthly group audits to ensure synchronization between Delphi and the PMS.
  • Financial Planning & Forecasting: Assist in the development of short and long-term revenue forecasts to drive strategic planning.
  • Generate 14-day forecasts for the management team to ensure optimal property-level staffing and operational efficiency.
  • Maintain group pick-up report and manage communication regarding upcoming group cut-off dates.
  • Strategy & Communication: Participate in weekly revenue management meetings, preparing all necessary data and reports for stakeholder review.
  • Communicate revenue strategies and procedures effectively across all departments.
  • Conduct “test calls” to the Central Reservation Office (CRO) and property to verify rate quoting accuracy and sales approach.
  • Maintain a comprehensive knowledge of all room types, hotel products, special promotions, and competitor selling strategies.
  • Leadership & Operational Excellence: Provide coverage for the Director of Revenue in their absence, ensuring continuity of strategy and operations.
  • Provide administrative support to the Revenue Management team to enhance departmental productivity.
  • Foster a service-oriented environment, handling guest and employee interactions with warmth, clarity, and confidentiality.
  • Identify operational bottlenecks and implement proactive solutions to meet departmental deadlines and goals.
