About The Position

The CCRC Area Nurse provides clinical leadership, oversight, and operational support to multiple Continuing Care Retirement Communities. This role ensures compliance with state/federal regulations, conducts quality audits, trains staff, and optimizes resident care. Responsibilities include proxy caregiver training, administering skills competency checklists to resident care aides upon hire, quarterly observations of medication aides to verify competency with medication administration, and annual competency reviews for resident care aides. The position may also involve supervising other staff members and reports to the Divisional Director of Health and Wellness. Requirements

  • Active Registered Nurse (RN) license.
  • 3–5 years of experience.
  • Experience in long-term care, skilled nursing, or clinical management.
  • Current/active nurse License with zero judgments.
  • CPR certified.
  • English language skills.
  • Proficiency in electronic health records (EHR).
  • Strong knowledge of regulatory requirements and quality improvement processes.
  • Critical thinking and problem-solving attributes.

Responsibilities

  • Provide clinical leadership, oversight, and operational support to multiple Continuing Care Retirement Communities.
  • Ensure compliance with state/federal regulations.
  • Conduct quality audits.
  • Train staff and optimize resident care.
  • Provide proxy caregiver training.
  • Administer skills competency checklists to resident care aides upon hire.
  • Perform quarterly observations of medication aides to verify competency with medication administration.
  • Conduct annual competency reviews for resident care aides.
  • Supervise other staff members (if required).
  • Monitor clinical outcomes.
  • Audit medical services.
  • Implement quality improvement plans to enhance resident care and Senior Lifestyle Corporation guidelines.
  • Respond quickly to all emergencies.
  • Maintain close communication with Health and Wellness Directors.
  • Maintain resident confidentiality.
  • Understand role in the Safety & Disaster Plan.
  • Provide educational meetings for resident care staff as needed.
  • Attend all required training, in-service, and staff meetings.
  • Ensure all facilities adhere to federal regulations (OBRA, OSHA, HIPPA).
  • Provide clinical expertise, education, and support to nursing staff and administrators.
  • Develop and update clinical policies and procedures across the region.
  • Participate in the recruitment and retention of nursing staff.
  • Travel between facilities, often up to 90% of the time, to perform on-site visits/support.
  • Strive to maintain a safe working environment through the prevention of accidents, the preservation of equipment, and the achievement of safe working practices.
  • Maintain a positive and professional demeanor toward residents, visitors, families, and co-workers.
  • Adhere to all policies and procedures of Senior Lifestyle Corporation.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
