About The Position

Manage a specific manufacturing area at the Bellwood, IL facility that manufactures finished products globally for the OEM automotive industry. Plan, organize and lead the manufacturing function of a designated production cell area or series of processes to ensure compliance with short and long term goals as stated in the Business Plan for Safety, Quality, Cost, Delivery, and Teamwork. The incumbent will have budget and P&L responsibility HVVC- achieve/exceed LRP objectives. Identify, report and reduce major cost drivers and increase contribution margin. This individual will be asked to design and develop and implement programs to achieve aggressive improvement objectives for safety, quality, cost and delivery. The incumbent must meet all customer expectations as they relate to quality, cost, delivery, safety. To do this, the incumbent must analyze and synthesize information such as sales, schedule releases, finished and in-process materials, and employment. The incumbent is responsible for developing and implementing approved policies, objectives and programs related to the flow and cost of materials encompassing the functions of Production and Inventory Control, warehousing, shipping and receiving, material handling and purchasing. The primary objectives of material control are customer service, minimum inventory investment, and maximum operating efficiency. Develop and implement a comprehensive Manufacturing Operations strategy that ensures the timely manufacture of current products that meet quality, cost, safety, and delivery standards. Ensure departmental performance to budget. Participate with other members of management in the formulation of strategy, policies and procedures to guide the business in achieving established goals and objectives. Maintain positive employee relations. The Product Line Leader must direct his/her subordinates toward increasing the efficiency of the manufacturing processes, equipment, facilities and run standards. Define / Identify key product and process characteristics. Establish methods and procedures to quantify and systematically improve CPk The incumbent should have a thorough understanding of manufacturing business and experience in a manufacturing environment along with supervision and leadership experience. The incumbent has the authority to manage the operation in accordance with BW Bellwood policies and procedures by delegating work to the team leaders and utilizing the support staff, such as engineering, skill trades, accounting, purchasing, quality, and human resources as needed. This position is challenged by having a 3 shift operation(s) that he/she is responsible for managing.
