This role involves respectfully communicating with all employees and leads, providing coaching and development to shift hourly associates, and ensuring all employees have necessary tools, proper training, and corrective direction. The Area Manager will report information and update managers throughout every shift regarding production, resolve employee issues, and manage departmental performance measures. The role requires balancing quality, productivity, cost, safety, and morale, continuously improving processes, and conducting daily shift and safety meetings. Additionally, the manager will conduct interviews for nonexempt shifts, perform accident investigations, manage department priorities, and track absenteeism and timekeeping. The ideal candidate is a leader capable of training and developing a large group of employees and managing multiple production lines, a problem solver, results-driven, tactful in communication, able to multitask, computer literate, and comfortable in cool/cold environments (10º - 40º).
