About The Position

As an Area Manager I, you will lead and manage multiple teams responsible for achieving operational goals and fostering strong stakeholder relationships. You’ll oversee the effectiveness of Fulfillment Center strategies and ensure the quality of your team’s deliverables. This role is pivotal in driving team success, promoting a culture of inclusion, and aligning your team’s efforts with broader organizational objectives. You'll leverage your knowledge and leadership to optimize operations, manage risks, and support your team’s growth and development.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree or 5+ years of leadership experience in Fulfillment, Distribution, or Warehouse operations.
  • Advanced functional knowledge of supply chain management, including fulfillment, procurement, transportation, and warehousing.
  • Proven experience in managing teams, influencing stakeholders, and driving strategic initiatives.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
  • Ability to manage complex problems, mitigate risks, and make strategic trade-offs.
  • Experience in coaching, developing team members, and fostering a culture of inclusion and collaboration.

Responsibilities

  • Provide managerial oversight for a team accountable for achieving operational goals and maintaining strong stakeholder relationships. Ensure effective execution of Fulfillment Center strategies and consistently high-quality deliverables.
  • Foster a positive, inclusive work environment aligned with company values by recognizing team achievements and promoting a culture of excellence and belonging.
  • Drive operational excellence by optimizing metrics, processes, and best practices. Ensure policy compliance, allocate resources effectively, identify root causes, and lead automation and improvement initiatives that enhance deliverable quality and the team environment.
  • Coach and develop team members to build skills, encourage independent decision-making, and promote active participation. Assign work strategically to stretch capabilities and review outputs to ensure accuracy, consistency, and alignment with objectives.
  • Proactively manage risk and commitments by identifying and mitigating risks, removing blockers, and preventing overextension through effective scoping and prioritization.
  • Maintain clear, transparent communication with partner teams, stakeholders, and leadership by sharing priorities, progress updates, challenges, and decision-making rationale.
  • Evaluate performance using data-driven insights by auditing results, analyzing trends, and documenting lessons learned to support continuous operational improvement.
  • Develop strong product and cross-functional knowledge by deeply understanding team-owned products, fostering collaborative partnerships, and providing guidance on operational best practices to sustain high performance.
