Because the office view is worth it! Responsible for supporting operations at the Basin and Valley base areas. Directly responsible for parking cars/traffic control; gathering, hauling, and disposing of trash/recycling from outlets in base areas and on-mountain cabins; general snow removal; and basic repair and maintenance of base area facilities and on-mountain cabins. Also responsible for assisting the Base Area Operations Director with larger responsibilities including water/wastewater treatment operations, more involved maintenance and repair within ski area facilities. Requirements

  • Responsible for hiring and managing a team of Area Maintenance/Parking Technicians. The position will be a working manager (i.e., expected to work in the parking lot.)
  • Responsible for all parking operations including guiding traffic into and within the ski area’s parking lots, directing vehicles to parking spaces, and egress out of the parking lots.
  • Responsible for trash/recycling movement to proper disposal
  • Responsible for removal of snow around base area facilities, steps, roofs/overhangs, trouble areas and high traffic areas. May support parking lot plow crew as needed in a skid steer.
  • Responsible for basic repair and maintenance of base area buildings and spaces as well as on-mountain cabins. Responsible for cleaning on-mountain cabin restrooms in winter.
  • Organize and oversee Fire Protection System maintenance and testing.
  • Assist with monitoring and operations of the water/wastewater treatment facility. Check sump pumps, reservoirs, water inlets, and culverts to ensure water is flowing.
  • Assist with facility equipment maintenance and repair (i.e., boilers, etc.) and with kitchen equipment maintenance and repair.
  • Develop, implement, monitor, train to and maintain department safety programs including job hazard assessments, training, documentation, etc.
