Area Director of Operations, West Coast
About The Position
Functional Pathways is seeking an experienced, dynamic Area Director of Operations (ADO) to oversee and elevate multiple rehabilitation facilities across the West Coast region. This salaried leadership role offers quarterly performance-based incentives and the chance to make a meaningful, hands-on impact. As an ADO, you will play a key role in driving operational excellence and ensuring the delivery of high-quality patient care. This role requires regular travel and a commitment to empowering teams, enhancing outcomes, and sustaining a culture of excellence. Functional Pathways is a therapist-owned organization with over 30 years of experience serving Skilled Nursing Facilities, Senior Living Communities, hospitals, and home-based residents, committed to patient-centered care, strong clinical partnerships, and supporting team members.
Requirements
- Must have a bachelor’s or associate degree from an accredited Physical Therapy, Speech Therapy, or Occupational Therapy, Physical Therapy Assistant or Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant program
- Must meet all certification and licensure requirements as established by the state and national board associations
- Active state license
- Must possess a current certification from NBCOT if required by state – OT/COTAs only
- Must possess a current certification from ASHA (CCC) Certification – SLPs only
- Minimum of 3 years of clinical experience
- Must have multi-site management experience (1-3yrs)
Responsibilities
- Conducting regular on-site visits to support and engage local teams
- Building strong relationships with facility administrators and team leaders
- Leading structured meetings and strategic initiatives
- Identifying and resolving operational challenges
- Ensuring ongoing accessibility and support for staff
- Overseeing documentation, performance evaluations, and disciplinary processes
- Leading quality assurance efforts and implementing forward-thinking rehabilitation programs
