About The Position

As an Area Director of Finance, you will be responsible for overseeing the financial operations of multiple properties within a designated region. Your primary role involves managing a team of accountants, ensuring accurate financial reporting, implementing internal controls, and providing strategic financial guidance to optimize performance across all properties. Requirements

  • Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance, or other business-related field of study required
  • Demonstrated proficiency in Internal Controls
  • Experience in managing Accounting close processes
  • Expertise in Financial Reporting
  • Expertise in Budget and Forecasting
  • Ability to create and analyze Cash Flow Reports
  • Experience in conducting Balance Sheet Reviews

Nice To Haves

  • Masters degree in Accounting preferred
  • Prior experience in Hotel Accounting is preferred

Responsibilities

  • Financial Management: Oversee the financial activities of multiple properties, including budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis.
  • Ensure compliance with accounting principles, regulatory requirements, and company policies.
  • Monitor financial performance metrics and provide insights to drive decision-making.
  • Team Leadership: Lead and mentor a team of accountants across various properties.
  • Foster a collaborative and high-performing work environment.
  • Provide guidance, training, and professional development opportunities to team members.
  • Financial Reporting: Prepare and review financial statements, variance analyses, and other financial reports.
  • Ensure accuracy and timeliness of financial reporting processes.
  • Communicate financial results to management and stakeholders effectively.
  • Internal Controls: Develop and implement internal control procedures to safeguard assets and ensure compliance with financial regulations.
  • Monitor adherence to internal controls and address any deficiencies identified.
  • Budgeting and Forecasting: Coordinate the budgeting and forecasting process for each property within the region.
  • Analyze budget variances and recommend corrective actions as needed.
  • Assist in long-term financial planning and strategic decision-making.
  • Audit and Compliance: Liaise with external auditors and facilitate the audit process for all properties.
  • Ensure compliance with audit requirements and address audit findings in a timely manner.
  • Stay abreast of changes in accounting standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Financial Systems and Processes: Evaluate and streamline financial systems and processes to improve efficiency and accuracy.
  • Identify opportunities for automation and optimization of financial workflows.
