About The Position

The Area Director, Extended Stay – Everhome Suites Performance serves as a strategic advisor and operational consultant for Everhome Suites franchisees. This role focuses on driving performance across revenue, occupancy, and guest experience metrics by leveraging data-driven insights and brand standards. The position requires extensive travel and collaboration with cross-functional teams to ensure consistent execution of the Everhome Suites operating model.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Hospitality, Business, or related field or equivalent combination of education and work experience.
  • 15+ years of hotel operations experience, with strong preference for extended stay, midscale, and select-service hotels.
  • 10+ years of hotel leadership or multi-unit oversight, ideally in a franchise environment.
  • Deep knowledge of extended stay operating models, including occupancy management, labor efficiency, and cost discipline.
  • Proven ability to influence performance through consulting and coaching.
  • Strong analytical skills with expertise in forecasting, budgeting, and profitability optimization.
  • Exceptional communication, time management, and organizational skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and performance management platforms.

Nice To Haves

  • MBA or advanced degree.
  • Experience working within a matrixed organization and adapting to evolving business needs.
  • Familiarity with tools such as CoSTAR, Co-Pilot, Medallia, Salesforce, Tableau, and HotStats.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct property visits and deliver operational, financial, and guest experience consultations aligned with Everhome Suites standards.
  • Ensure execution of extended stay fundamentals: occupancy discipline, long-stay sales activation, labor efficiency, and cost control.
  • Leverage performance data and brand insights to influence adoption of Everhome standards and drive operational excellence.
  • Lead performance across revenue, occupancy, ADR, RevPAR Index, Extended Stay Occupancy (EssOcc), and ALOS.
  • Partner with Revenue Management, Distribution, and Sales teams to enhance long-stay business and local-market demand generation.
  • Improve guest satisfaction by analyzing Medallia insights and eliminating key drivers of service failures.
  • Deliver high-impact consultations using data-driven analysis and brand-specific operating practices.
  • Apply Trusted Advisor skills to develop strong owner-operator relationships across assigned hotels.
  • Promote engagement with Choice Hotels’ proprietary tools and resources to enhance profitability and efficiency.
  • Maintain proactive, transparent communication with franchisees and internal stakeholders.
  • Document consultation outcomes and progress updates within Choice’s contact management systems.
  • Share market insights, best practices, and performance trends relevant to Everhome Suites and the extended stay segment.
  • Submit timely and accurate business expenses, reports, and consultation records.
  • Support extended stay franchise sales initiatives and represent Everhome Suites at industry events.
  • Contribute insights to support the continued evolution of the Everhome Suites brand.
