About The Position

As a Customs Specialist at Kuehne+Nagel, your job is to optimise logistics to keep our global supply chains running smoothly. But the impact of your work goes beyond that. It's import and export work, but it's also so much more than we imagine. You as Customs Compliance Manager ensures adherence to all international trade laws, tariffs, and regulations. You will develop and implement customs programs, conducting audits, managing import/export documentation and duties, collaborating with customs authorities, and training staff on compliance matters. This role requires staying current on regulatory changes, overseeing classification and valuation, and managing third-party logistics providers to minimize risk and facilitate smooth global trade.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in International Business, Supply Chain, or related field
  • Licensed Customs Broker (LCB) certification is Mandate
  • 5+ years of experience in customs compliance or brokerage operations.
  • Strong knowledge of HTS classification, valuation, country of origin, and free trade agreements.
  • Experience with ACE, ABI, and CBP systems
  • Familiarity with international customs regulations and global trade compliance.
  • Proficiency in compliance software and Operating systems
  • Proven Experience in a leadership/training role
  • Excellent communication, analytical, and organizational skills

Responsibilities

  • Monitor and manage compliance risk across multiple business entities and industries
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for Customs and Border Protection inquiries, audits, and enforcement actions in the Southeast region
  • Ensure South East Hub Operations are managing and controlling risk within their entry activities
  • Lead the preparation and submission of Post Summary Corrections (PSCs), Protests, and Petitions
  • Analyze entry data to identify discrepancies and implement corrective actions
  • Collaborate with internal teams and clients to resolve post-entry issues efficiently
  • Manage Hub Locations to ensure compliance log- oversight is maintained based on the Liquidation Cycle- Protest Period for finalization
  • Develop and deliver compliance training programs for internal staff and clients, Customs, Partner Government Agencies (PGA) and regulatory changes
  • Stay current on regulatory changes and ensure timely dissemination of updates
  • Mentor junior compliance staff and support professional development initiatives
  • Conduct internal audits and compliance reviews to identify gaps and recommend improvements
  • Implement and monitor internal controls to mitigate compliance risks
  • Maintain documentation and records in accordance with CBP and company standards
