About The Position

Primary responsibilities are monitoring / working all orders within assigned Work Centers – this would include accounting for all orders clocked to given area or orders physically located within that area. Must confirm dates are reflected accurately in the Work Center View schedule so that areas know in what order to run jobs. The goal of the Area Coordinator is to eliminate “wasted” time within their areas by identifying problems and streamlining the flow of product. Troubleshooting where needed.

Requirements

  • An Area Coordinator must be able to efficiently use Microsoft Excel and have a working knowledge how an MRP system functions.
  • Must be able to communicate well with other people, and must possess multitasking capabilities.

Responsibilities

  • Each Area Coordinator is responsible (owns) designated work center queues as assigned.
  • In their area’s they are required to do daily audits of the parts within their area using the WCV.
  • If there are parts located in their area that are not on the queue, the AC is to research why and fix the issue immediately. (Examples: missed or inaccurate clocking, planning changes, QA issues)
  • If parts are reflecting in queue but not physically located in the area they are also to research these and locate parts, fixing any issues as to why.
  • They are to use tools to accurately schedule machines / labor based on priority (Op days, due dates, AOG, etc…) to our customers.
  • AC’s need to review and work with Leads / Management orders that we haven’t the capacity to support due dates and communicate possibility of offload with Supply Chain.
  • They are to “red-sleeve” orders in their work centers that fall within specified parameters (currently doing past due and two weeks out + 60 days if detail to assembly) as this is a visual within shop showing urgency required.
  • They are to put status of the parts in the WCV so it is visible to everyone. This includes ECD’s as well as any issues regarding the part.
  • They are to directly communicate issues with appropriate personnel.
  • They are to follow-up to ensure that the issue gets handled in a timely manner.
  • Split orders as required to keep orders flowing to support customer’s requirements.
  • Area Coordinator’s are to work with other Area Coordinator’s as the product flows from area to area.
