About The Position

This is an ENCORE opportunity. You must be a retired Cigna Group employee to be eligible. We are seeking an experienced and motivated Solutions Architect with expertise in API's to join our dynamic Digital, Data and Analytics Solution Architecture team. The successful candidate will play a key role in designing and implementing scalable, high-performance entity solutions on cloud platforms. As a crucial member of our team, the Architect will contribute to the advancement of our data management and digital capabilities.

Requirements

  • This is an ENCORE opportunity. You must be a retired Cigna Group employee to be eligible.
  • Minimum 9 years of experience in digital engineering, data platforms, and API‑based solutions.
  • Proven experience as a Solutions Architect designing enterprise‑scale architectures.
  • Strong hands-on experience with AWS services such as Lambda, DynamoDB, Serverless, Glue, and S3.
  • Proficiency in one or more programming or scripting languages, including Python, Go, Java, or Scala.
  • Strong knowledge of data technologies including SQL, PostgreSQL, DynamoDB, and MongoDB Atlas.
  • Experience designing and implementing ETL and change data capture (CDC) processes.
  • Experience building and supporting CI/CD pipelines.
  • Clear communication skills and comfort leading architecture discussions and workshops.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with Kafka, Airflow, Terraform, or Azure cloud services.
  • Familiarity with healthcare industry systems or regulated environments.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.

Responsibilities

  • Design and deliver secure, scalable, and high‑performing API‑driven solutions across cloud platforms.
  • Translate business needs into clear, practical solution architectures that balance performance, security, and cost.
  • Lead end‑to-end architecture design, from concept through implementation and optimization.
  • Develop and guide ETL and data integration patterns to support reliable data movement and analytics.
  • Set architectural standards and promote best practices for APIs, microservices, and cloud‑native development.
  • Partner with engineering, security, and compliance teams to ensure solutions meet healthcare regulatory requirements.
  • Estimate solution complexity and effort, and communicate architecture decisions through clear presentations and diagrams.
  • Facilitate technical discussions and workshops with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
