Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Architectural Engineering, before the start of a Masters Degree program
  • Minimum GPA of 3.0 or above; required
  • Previous community building skill imperative
  • Excellent communication skills (verbal, written, and presentation)
  • Availability and willingness to travel
  • All new hires will be required to successfully complete and pass a pre-employment (post offer) background check in compliance with NIST 800-171

Responsibilities

  • Analysis, design, inspection of waterfront and transportation structures
  • Structural analysis and design with steel, reinforced concrete and composite materials
  • Prestressed concrete analysis and design
  • Develop plans, specifications, and inspection reports
  • Help resolve design problems that may include performing field investigation or inspections, detailed design work, and detailed checking of design computations done by others, or general coordination of specific design aspects into a project
  • Calculate construction quantities
  • Work closely with other engineers, scientists, project managers, etc. on multi-discipline projects
  • In-office construction administration including review of shop drawings and technical submittals
  • Assists the Design Team to develop and advance creative design concepts for clients/projects
  • Produces drawings to create and document architectural designs
  • Assists in development, review and revision of production drawings and construction documents and corrects and updates documents as required
  • Assists in design analysis and compilation of specifications for basic to complex architectural assignments
  • Assists in preparation of finished material sample boards and graphic presentations for client approval
  • Assists with coordination of outside disciplines such as Civil, Structural, Electrical and Mechanical and other consultants
  • Reviews building codes and conducts zoning analyses to ensure that designs comply with minimum legal standards
  • Takes initiative to explore current graphic standards and building construction methods
  • Research construction materials and systems
  • Assists supervisor in review and preparation of marketing materials and overall proposal preparation
