How your role fits into Boldt: Business Development Assists in marketing the services of Boldt Design with strategic client relations. Provides assistance with business development, project interviews, project proposals and provides community outreach. Create and/or oversee the creation of presentation drawings for proposals. Design Phase / Project Management Leads architectural projects and other design related functions and activities. Supervises the development of design documents for construction projects and related professional services in accordance with accepted industry codes, standards and practices. Coordinates and prepares feasibility studies, facility assessments and related reports, ensuring that the information provided aligns with current standards and all documents are accurate and consistent. Represents company, project and/or department during client and project meetings. Leads and facilitates project coordination discussions and general communication with operations group construction project managers. Leads collaboration throughout the entire project delivery and construction to resolve problems, ensure quality of construction, etc. in support of overall project schedule. Provides leadership and supervision of the architectural team to maintain project quality, budgets, and schedules. Assists in the scheduling of work, identifying and communicating priorities of the team. Supports the architectural team to ensure they have the necessary tools, training, and resources to effectively perform their day-to-day tasks. Assists in hiring architectural team members and identifies resources available to supplement in-house resources. Contributes to the acquisition of those resources as needed to support projects. Advises the development, maintenance, and utilization of design standards for Boldt specifications, drawing format, administrative procedures, quality control measures, cost control, and scheduling. Ensures project design activities follow company and contract requirements and supports overall project schedule. Provides technical support for project pursuits and construction efforts, including participation in construction planning and design; interpretation of design; application of construction methods; resolution and documentation of design conflicts; constructability reviews, etc. Develops, maintains and manages supporting consultant relationships for the execution of services needed to deliver Boldt Design designs. Professional Growth Mentor and coach junior staff. Stay updated with industry trends, technologies, and best practices. Function as in-house technical resource for project issues regarding architectural design.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Architecture.
  • Minimum of ten years of related design experience; five years people management required.
  • Registered as a Wisconsin Licensed Architect required, Member of the American Institute of Architects (AIA), and/or National Council of American Registration Boards (NCARB) Certification are a plus.
  • Proficient with CAD and BIM related software.
  • Advanced knowledge of architectural design and construction technology, codes, standards, etc., plus an in-depth understanding of the interdependence and relationships between other engineering disciplines.
  • Ability to focus on the details and collectively work with team members to promote thoroughness and accuracy throughout all levels of work.
  • A valid driver's license may be required.
  • Individuals in this role may be subject to an annual Motor Vehicle Records check.
