About The Position

Hutker Architects is a design-led residential practice dedicated to creating custom, heirloom homes. We are offering a Summer Architectural Designer Internship Program for students interested in gaining hands-on experience in high-end residential architecture. Interns are fully integrated into studio teams and exposed to all phases of the architectural process, from early design through documentation and construction support. This is a full-time summer internship based onsite at our Plymouth, MA studio location. Program Experience Summer Interns work closely with Project Managers and design teams, contributing to both creative and technical aspects of active projects. The program is designed to provide meaningful, real-world experience through direct involvement in design development, documentation, modeling, presentations, and site exposure, while learning within a collaborative studio environment.

Requirements

  • Currently enrolled in an accredited undergraduate or graduate architecture program
  • Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and eagerness to learn
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD and/or Revit with a solid understanding of architectural drawings
  • Working knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite, SketchUp, and Microsoft Office suite
  • Ability to produce physical and digital models
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively in a studio setting
  • Must be able to work full-time from our Plymouth, MA studio location

Nice To Haves

  • Prior architectural internship experience preferred

Responsibilities

  • Produce and update CAD drawings including plans, elevations, sections, and interior elevations based on redlines and direction from the Project Manager
  • Assist with design development and construction documentation
  • Participate in schematic design discussions and design review meetings
  • Create project graphics, diagrams, and presentation materials
  • Measure and document existing conditions and produce existing conditions drawings
  • Build physical and digital architectural models
  • Attend meetings and participate in construction observation at site visits, as applicable
  • Track assigned tasks, deliverables, and hours to support project performance
  • Image scanning, photo editing, and basic rendering
  • Product and material research
  • Assemble image packages and presentation boards
  • Prepare and distribute project materials including drawings and presentation packages
  • Plot drawings for client presentations and construction documents
  • Provide general administrative support to the studio as needed
