About The Position

The successful candidate will join the Engineering Directorate to support the Center Maintenance, Operations, and Engineering Contract (CMOE) located at NASA Langley Research Center. This position reports directly to the Civil, Structural, Architectural Supervisor. All safety policies and procedures must be followed. Responsibilities: Design Development: Support the creation of architectural design solutions by developing adjacency diagrams, conceptual renderings, and 3D models. Documentation: Prepare, revise, and organize architectural construction documents, including floor plans, sections, elevations, and detailed drawings. Construction Administration: Assist with on-site visits, observe work in progress, respond to Requests for Information (RFIs), and review technical submittals. Technical Support: Conduct building code research, evaluate materials and products to inform design decisions, and perform site analyses. Project Coordination: Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings, record meeting minutes, help maintain organized project files, and contribute to the development of client presentations. Software Proficiency: Autodesk Revit Take responsibility for assigned tasks, following established procedures and standards. Support presentations by creating clear, innovative methods of displaying information. Collaborate closely with designers and engineers to clarify and interpret client requirements. Contribute to organizational consistency within the team and help ensure efficient workflow and productive use of resources. A strong candidate will: Be proficient in Revit. Communicate clearly, articulate design intent, ask thoughtful questions, and receive feedback constructively. Demonstrate strong research skills, identifying problems and locating relevant products, data, or code solutions. Show initiative, eagerness to learn, and the ability to contribute to both conceptual and technical aspects of projects. Present themselves professionally with enthusiasm and a positive, polished demeanor.

Requirements

  • U.S. Citizenship is required.
  • Ability to understand basic engineering terminology.
  • Pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Architecture is required.
  • Must be able to effectively communicate both orally and written with effective use of visual aids.
  • Should be able to use computing technology for problem analysis and solutions.
  • Valid Real ID compliant identification – www.dhs.gov/real-id
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a security clearance.
  • Must be able to work in a team atmosphere.
  • Must put forward professional behavior that enhances productivity and promotes teamwork and cooperation.
  • Grooming and dress must be appropriate for the position and must not impose a safety/risk hazard to the employee or others.
  • Must be able to balance scope, schedule and budget to insure project success.
  • The work environment requires the ability to cooperate and work with individuals at all levels of the company and the client organization.
  • Employees will exercise diligence when developing a Safe Plan of Action (SPA) for each task performed.
  • Your SPA is a Company provided tool to be used for the prevention of incidents, accidents, and injuries; as such, it is the most important tool that you are required to use.
