As a Systems Architect, you will provide strategic direction and governance for the overall robotic architecture within our Road Construction Team. In this role, you will ensure alignment with the unit's product and service goals while leveraging your expertise in system architecture principles and design. You will be responsible for designing and creating high-quality, reliable, safe, and scalable systems that drive innovation and performance.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's or master's degree in Systems Engineering, Robotic Engineering, Computer Science, Mechatronics Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
  • Proven experience in designing and implementing complex systems involving hardware and software integration.
  • Strong understanding of system architecture principles and methodologies for safety-critical systems.
  • Proficiency in creating system requirements documents, functional block diagrams, and system architecture diagrams.
  • Ability to work within our systems tech stack: Jama, Jira, Doors, Requisite-Pro, Polarion SVN, and ANSYS.
  • Working knowledge and familiarity of autonomous vehicle technologies, including sensors, control systems, security, and communication protocols.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain the overall system architecture for autonomous vehicle solutions in the road construction space, ensuring alignment with business, safety goals, and technical requirements.
  • Gather, analyze, and manage system requirements from stakeholders, ensuring clear documentation and traceability throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Create functional block diagrams and system architecture diagrams to visualize and communicate system designs.
  • Support Hazard Analysis and Risk Assessment (HARA) processes to ensure safety and compliance.
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams, including Product Managers, System Engineers, Safety Engineers, and Project Managers, to ensure cohesive and efficient project execution.
  • Create and maintain comprehensive documentation for robotic system architecture, design decisions, and technical specifications.
