About The Position

As a Senior Architect with Gensler’s team in Chicago you will design and deliver some of the most complex and impactful buildings in the region. You will bring together design excellence, technical rigor, and strategic thinking to deliver architecture that is both deeply functional and experientially rich. You will work within a highly collaborative, client-focused culture that values design quality, resilience, and social purpose. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Architecture from an accredited program
  • Registered / licensed Architect
  • 15+ years of relevant experience delivering complex buildings across all phases within a commercial design firm
  • Proven expertise in project leadership, client management, and technical design
  • Strong business acumen, communication, and team leadership skills
  • Mastery of Revit and advanced understanding of integrated building systems
  • Passion for design excellence and continuous learning
  • Demonstrated commitment to resilience and sustainable building practices in specific work samples

Nice To Haves

  • LEED Accreditation or WELL AP preferred

Responsibilities

  • Oversee major projects, shaping design direction, developing client relationships, and ensuring firm-wide excellence in project delivery and technical standards.
  • Lead multiple large-scale, complex projects from conceptual design through construction administration
  • Oversee quality assurance processes, design excellence, and technical rigor across teams
  • Build, strengthen, and manage key client relationships
  • Direct consultant coordination, project staffing, scheduling, and project financial performance
  • Support Project Managers and project teammates; ensure projects meet contractual obligations
  • Resolve advanced technical issues and ensure constructible, code-compliant solutions
  • Represent the firm in stakeholder meetings, regulatory reviews, and public presentations
  • Mentor emerging leaders; contribute to firm strategy, culture, and thought leadership
