About this team The architecture group at lululemon is responsible for guiding the design and implementation of technical strategies that support every aspect of our rapidly scaling global business. You will work in a matrixed environment alongside peers in business, engineering, program, ux and strategy - among other disciplines - to collaboratively develop and deliver industry leading technology solutions aligned to business goals and objectives. In addition to your primary team, project, or portfolio you will be supported by a diverse Architecture Community of Practice, which provides learning and governance resources to all architects and will help you build a strong and robust practice of leadership grounded in technical proficiency, innovative thinking and empathy. Core Responsibilities The Architect develops detailed solution roadmaps for a specific system, project, or application. You will partner closely with engineers and project management to ensure that implementation meets design expectations and adheres to enterprise architecture standards.

Requirements

  • BS / BA in technology related discipline or relevant industry experience
  • 3-5 years of experience developing, deploying, scaling and maintaining software systems. A good portion of this experience should come from working in and around cloud-based services.
  • Able to design to systems that meet specific operational SLAs and able to describe basic security and compliance aspects of cloud platform primitives & data integrations
  • Familiarity with Fraud detection, Payment Systems and their integrations to support secure seamless financial operations.
  • Knowledge of Asset Protection practices to mitigate risk and ensure compliance across retail environments.
  • Proven expertise in AWS for deploying, scaling, and managing cloud-native applications and infrastructure.
  • Strong focus on Security best practices for data protection, identity management, and regulatory compliance.
  • Demonstrated Enterprise Retail Experience in supporting large-scale operations, merchandising, and omnichannel strategies.
  • Hands-on experience using compute, networking, storage, and data components in Amazon AWS and Microsoft Azure with Terraform or equivalent IaC tools. All infrastructure deployed and maintained through CI/CD pipelines in GitLab.
  • Be able to describe the key services and components of an in-house app and be able to select appropriately for given use cases, e.g. compute, storage, analytics, etc.
  • Good understanding of well-architected framework and ability to promote best-practices and provide guidance to help engineers across the organization with cloud adoption.
  • Deep familiarity with managing accounts at scale and managing OU strategy, Resource Groups, and Landing Zones using Control Tower in AWS and CloudFormation.
  • Experience governing cloud resources and services using SCP and RCP in AWS and Azure Policies.
  • Identify and anticipate new tools and platform features which can be leveraged to successfully meet the strategic needs of the company.
  • Design and document modern and efficient systems with excellent attention to detail.

Responsibilities

  • Produce and present solution options to project leadership with clear definitions of the benefits and tradeoffs of each proposal.
  • Participate and present at architecture design reviews and lead the governance activities for a given solution.
  • Act as subject matter expert within your specific product/platform while also demonstrating knowledge beyond a singular service to encompass multiple interdependent services both on premise and within SaaS or cloud infrastructure and effectively design interactions in a highly matrixed environment.
  • Develop and maintain component level (e.g. system, service or application) roadmap(s) for assigned portfolio and ensure that solutions recommended for implementation adhere to organizational architecture standards, patterns & practices.
  • Design and develop detailed architecture design artifacts (including, but not limited to logical, conceptual and integration diagrams) for assigned teams and projects.
