About The Position

The Architect Designer Intern will assist the Conservancy in expanding concepts for Park spaces and Park projects while participating in donor conversations about renovation projects within Park spaces. This role involves supporting project design, developing visuals that help show design intent, Project conceptualization, coordinating with Conservancy staff and ensuring that projects adhere to Park standards.

Requirements

  • Currently pursuing a degree in Architecture, environmental design, or a related field.
  • Basic understanding of construction methods, materials, and project management practices.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills to interact with contractors, park staff, and other stakeholders in a professional manner.
  • Ability to work in Revit or AutoCAD to help draft designs, develop Boards or slides and model structures or spaces as needed.
  • Familiarity with Word, Excel, and project management tools (e.g., Microsoft Project or similar software).
  • Strong ability to manage multiple tasks, track deadlines, and maintain organized project records.

Responsibilities

  • Act as liaison between the Conservancy and subcontractors
  • Assist in the inspection of assigned projects in different phases of construction to monitor workflow, quality, and completion.
  • Assist in scheduling or communication to subcontractors and monitoring completion of work as required, including delivery and use of materials, supplies, tools, machinery, and equipment.
  • Monitoring work quality, work progress, and reporting issues arising from inspections.
  • Ensure a clean, safe work environment to include the removal of debris from publicly accessible areas.
