Conservancy Irrigation Technician

No other community comes close. The Promontory Conservancy is looking to fulfill a vacancy for a Conservancy Irrigation Technician. The Conservancy Irrigation Technician will perform the operation, installation, maintenance and repair of manual, semi-automatic and automatic irrigation and sprinkler systems as well as assist in reading water meters and documenting water use.
Requirements
- High School diploma or general education degree (GED) preferred; must be at least 21 years of age and be able to pass a pre – employment background and motor vehicle driving check; must have a clean Motor Vehicle Record to be added to Promontory’s vehicle insurance.
- Must have 2 years related experience and/or training or equivalent combination of education and experience maintaining commercial irrigation systems
- Must have knowledge of VFD (Variable Frequency Drives)
- Must be authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship.
- Must be able to lift a maximum of 100lbs; must be willing to work various hours, holidays and weekends.
Nice To Haves
- knowledge of WeatherTrack preferred
- Backflow certification highly preferred.
Responsibilities
- Will work on irrigation lines ranging from 1” up to 8”.
- Checks system for proper operation and timing.
- Performs seasonal maintenance such as system charging and draining.
- Maintains inventory of related parts and supplies.
- May participate in the design or modification of new or existing systems.
- Follow all company safety and security policies and procedures; report accidents, injuries and unsafe work practices to management.
- Other duties as assigned.
