We are seeking an experienced Arborist to support tree care, vegetation management, and grounds safety activities at an onsite government installation in San Antonio, TX. This role is responsible for evaluating tree health and condition, identifying hazards, recommending or performing corrective actions, and helping maintain safe and compliant outdoor environments across the site. The ideal candidate will bring strong arboriculture knowledge, sound judgment, and the ability to work safely in a regulated military installation environment.

Requirements

  • ISA Certified Arborist required.
  • Minimum of three (3) years of experience in arboriculture, tree care, vegetation management, or a related field.
  • Strong knowledge of tree biology, pruning practices, hazard recognition, disease identification, and safe tree care methods.
  • Experience conducting tree inspections and documenting findings and recommended corrective actions.
  • Ability to work safely around facilities, roadways, and operational areas.
  • Ability to work onsite full-time in San Antonio, Texas.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain required installation/base access.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience supporting arborist or vegetation management work in government, military, industrial, or other secure environments.
  • Familiarity with tree risk assessment, storm damage response, and grounds safety practices.
  • Experience working near utility corridors or other sensitive operational areas.
  • Secret clearance or prior eligibility for access to military installations preferred.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently in a high-compliance environment.

Responsibilities

  • Inspect trees and wooded areas to assess health, structural condition, disease, decay, pest issues, and potential hazards.
  • Identify trees or limbs requiring pruning, treatment, removal, bracing, cabling, or other corrective action.
  • Perform or support pruning, trimming, removal, and general tree care activities in accordance with accepted arboriculture practices and site requirements.
  • Evaluate tree-related risks to buildings, roadways, walkways, utility areas, fenced areas, and other site infrastructure.
  • Recommend treatment or mitigation plans to preserve tree health and reduce safety risks.
  • Support storm response, debris management, and emergency hazard tree assessment, as needed.
  • Maintain records of inspections, findings, work performed, and recommendations for follow-up action.
  • Coordinate with facility management, grounds personnel, and government representatives regarding vegetation management priorities and site conditions.
  • Follow all site safety, environmental, and installation access requirements while working in a secure government environment.
