AR/VR News Designer

ParamountChicago, IL

About The Position

CBS Stations is seeking an AR/VR News Designer to enhance news stories through augmented and virtual reality. This role focuses on creating clear, sharp, and engaging visual tools to explain breaking news, developing coverage, and daily segments, prioritizing real storytelling support over spectacle. The designer will work directly with producers and editorial teams to concept, build, and refine real-time AR/VR elements, including environments, graphics, and visual moments, using Unreal Engine, Cinema 4D, and Adobe tools. The position is crucial for shaping the visual language of modern broadcast news and is operational, scalable, and central to how CBS News & Stations tells stories across daily newscasts and major national moments.

Requirements

  • Strong background in motion design, 3D, or broadcast graphics
  • Experience with Unreal Engine (real-time design is core to the role)
  • Proficiency in Cinema 4D and Adobe Creative Suite (After Effects, Photoshop, Illustrator)
  • Strong sense of composition, structure, typography, and motion
  • Ability to simplify complex information into clear visuals
  • Comfortable working in fast-paced, deadline-driven environments
  • Strong communication skills, especially with editorial teams
