About The Position

Avista Senior Living is seeking a results-driven and customer-focused Accounts Receivable Specialist to work full time in our corporate offices in Mesa, AZ. This position plays a vital role in performing a wide variety of accounts receivable tasks, such as collections, invoicing, and cash applications. As an Accounts Receivable Specialist, you will get to showcase your problem solving and time management skills while working within a dynamic team setting performing accounts receivable activities. Requirements

  • High school diploma, GED certificate
  • Experience and familiarity with software programs, operations of various office equipment and computer.
  • Be a self-starter, able to take on responsibility and work with little supervision as well as with teammates.
  • Proficient with computer use and software such as Microsoft office (excel, word), Google (Gmail, Google sheets).
  • Effective written and oral communication skills.
  • Ability to speak effectively with communities/customers and associates of our organization.
  • Must possess excellent organizational skills and multi-tasking abilities.
  • Promotes and maintains positive relationships and rapport with co-workers, residents, family members and visitors.
  • Working knowledge of basic accounting terminology and processes.

Nice To Haves

  • Accounts Receivable experience preferred but not necessary.

Responsibilities

  • Setup cash batches in Point Click Care for the Accounting Manager to post.
  • Posting ancillary items to resident accounts as well as changes provided from communities with proper documentation.
  • Auditing census activity and ensuring the correct documentation for move ins/outs, apartment changes, etc.
  • Ensuring that the census lines are updated to the correct billing rates per documentation provided by the community.
  • Respond to emails in the accounts receivable shared email timely and assist facility with any needs.
  • Send out AR Aging balances to communities and request updates on outstanding balances.
  • Send trial statements to communities, make corrections, and then send finalized statements.
  • Email the communities to remind them to approve outstanding service packages.
  • Assist with Medicaid claims billing and follow up.
  • Process resident refunds and send to accounting manager for approval.
  • Other duties as assigned.
