About The Position

Accounts Receivable Clerk works in support of Finance Department. Primary responsibilities will be customer and vendor A/R, Vendor Chargeback programs, Spiff Submission, collection and all related accounting and reconciliations. Projects will be assigned as needed.

Requirements

  • 1+ year experience in a fast-paced Accounting environment, specifically responsible for accounts receivable, cash applications & collections
  • Strong Excel and Access skills a must.
  • Must be a self-starter, possess high energy, have outstanding written/verbal communication skills, strong organizational skills, and the ability to respect, protect and maintain highly confidential information.
  • Must be able to work independently and within a team.
  • Must have a pleasant, trusting personality and outstanding customer service skills!

Responsibilities

  • Post’s customer payments by recording cash, checks, and credit card transactions.
  • Secures revenue by verifying and posting receipts and resolving discrepancies.
  • Posts revenues by verifying and entering transactions from locked technician bags, mail and retail location.
  • Updates receivables by totaling unpaid invoices.
  • Maintains records, i.e. invoices, debits, and credits.
  • Responsible for tracking and resolving outstanding payment issues and generate weekly aging reports in a timely manner.
  • Verifies validity of account discrepancies by obtaining and investigating information from sales, trade promotions, customer service departments, and from customers.
  • Resolves valid or authorized deductions by entering adjusting entries.
  • Resolves invalid or unauthorized deductions by following pending deductions procedures.
  • Resolves collections by examining customer payment plans, payment history, credit line, coordinating contact with third party collections agencies.
  • Summarizes receivables by maintaining invoice accounts; coordinating monthly transfer to accounts receivable account; verifying totals; preparing report.
  • Protects organization's value by keeping information confidential.
  • Updates job knowledge by participating in continued education.
  • Accomplishes accounting and organization mission by completing related results as needed.
