At RA, our people are at the heart of everything we do. We are actively seeking Aquatics Attendants to join our team! The primary function of this position is to provide a welcoming and safe environment at our pool facilities, ensuring an exceptional experience for all guests. Aquatics Attendants are the ‘Concierge’ of the pool facility, meeting and exceeding customer expectations through friendly interactions, responsive cleaning, and helpful service. As the public face of Reston Aquatics, they are knowledgeable about all pool programs and activities and play a key role in creating a welcoming environment. Key responsibilities include processing facility admissions, assisting with retail sales at select locations, providing accurate and friendly information to customers, and performing routine cleaning to maintain a safe and pleasant atmosphere. Attendants also complete necessary reports and forms, help customers with equipment, and support emergency response efforts such as administering first aid, crowd control, communicating with EMS, and collecting witness statements when needed. No swimming or in-water tasks are required; however, some cleaning tasks may be related to the pool facility. Candidates must hold a current American Red Cross Adult & Pediatric First Aid/CPR/AED certification (provided upon hire) and are expected to consistently demonstrate the skills outlined in their certification, adhere to all standards and protocols associated with it, and maintain its validity through ongoing compliance and renewal as required. This position offers 5-25 hours per week, from June-August, with evening and weekend shifts required to support department operations and special events. These hours depend on operational needs and are subject to change. Hourly wage will be based on the candidate’s experience, education, and overall fit for the role. Current certifications in: American Red Cross Adult & Pediatric First Aid/CPR/AED (provided upon hire) Certifications obtained through Reston Association will be reimbursed once the course and hiring process are both completed.
