About The Position

Basic Purpose and Objectives: Working on projects with cross functional teams. Driving, developing, implementing and tracking to closure Advance Quality Planning Process (APQP) tools to ensure compliance with PROFIL’s Launch Process, Process Sign Off (PSO) and Customer Requirements for all product launches, localization projects, material optimization projects and internal & external engineering changes. Work Environment: The APQP Coordinator’s priority is to ensure the APQP projects meet and/or exceed all internal and external requirements, coupled with PPAP submission on time to the customer. Some time is spent on the production floor, majority is in the office completing tasks to assure a robust APQP project. Physical Demands: 25% of the time is walking and/or standing. 75% of the time is sitting. There is very little demand for lifting, pushing or pulling of heavy objects (more than 20 lbs.) Attention to detail is required.

Requirements

  • Minimum 3 year’s experience in automotive manufacturing environment as Quality Technician or Engineer
  • Good understanding of the AIAG core tools
  • Minimum 1 year experience in APQP & PPAP
  • Ability to compile and submit customer PPAP’s
  • Understanding of ISO 9001 & IATF 16949 requirements helpful
  • Basic computer skills; email, Microsoft Office; Word, Excel
  • Ability to read and understand part drawings
  • Ability to lead a team
  • Attention to detail
  • Able to maintain confidentiality on products and processes
  • Project Management experience

Responsibilities

  • Provide project management deployment of APQP
  • Developing APQP timeline
  • Schedule and run APQP meetings to keep the team on schedule
  • Escalate issues timely and appropriately
  • APQP SME in various APQP phases (gates) and deliverables
  • Work with suppliers and customers to communicate issues for assigned responsibilities
  • Completing Engineering change documents
  • Obtaining and approving supplier PPAP’s
  • Completing APQP requirements within CEBOS
  • Working with scheduling for sample product run (PPAP run)
  • Completing and submitting customer PPAP’s for approval
  • Risk analysis with cross functional team
  • Obtaining customer approval, where needed during APQP (approved drawing changes, etc.)
  • Update and report metrics aligned with APQP that clearly indicate status, impact and significant issues related to APQP projects
  • Ensuring all APQP requirements have been completed
