About The Position

Centric Pipe is seeking a hands-on Quality Supervisor (QC and QA) to lead quality assurance activities within our manufacturing operations in Bossier City, Louisiana. This role is responsible for overseeing product quality, supervising quality personnel, and ensuring compliance with internal standards and applicable industry requirements. The ideal candidate brings strong PFMEA and PPAP experience, thrives on the shop floor, and partners closely with production to drive continuous improvement and defect prevention. Requirements

  • Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related field, OR other relatable formal education
  • 2–5 years of quality or manufacturing experience, preferably in a solar - torque tube manufacturing or similar processes (roll forming, swaging, drilling).
  • Demonstrated experience with PFMEA, control plan development, and process validation.
  • PPAP certification or proven experience managing PPAP submissions (Level 5 preferred).
  • Experience with GR&R studies, first article inspections, SOPs, and work instructions.
  • Working knowledge of ISO 9001 or other applicable quality systems.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and troubleshooting skills.
  • Continuous improvement mindset with a proactive, hands-on approach.
  • Detail-oriented with strong documentation and organizational skills.
  • Effective communicator with the ability to collaborate across departments.
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities

  • Quality Production Management
  • Quality Management: Through (A) physical testing and inspection, (B) documentation, and/or (C) verbal report, act on quality issues to resolve them in the best interest of the company and lead a team of Quality personnel to act under your guidance.
  • Routinely and on schedule, direct the inspection of and/or physically inspect and/or test finished and stock couplings, pipe and tubing including, but not limited to, all issues with base stock inventory, production, processing and finishing.
  • Review sources and inventory history of products, bills of lading, etc. for the purpose of understanding patterns of issues.
  • Provide technical support to the different areas of the organization for the definition of changes or improvements in processes and products.
  • Approve inspection criteria and testing requirements for product certification.
  • Direct process and product testing to ensure quality standards are met during production.
  • Reference Material Test Reports (MTR) as necessary.
  • Maximize efficiency and profitability by negotiating for best price, and schedule services such as repairs, testing, scrapping, threading, delivery and shipping, and/or coordinating with third parties or internal team for processing and delivery.
  • Collaborate with other quality and project management professionals to achieve cumulative results.
  • Directs activities related with outside processor critical services to ensure that they meet company standards and specifications.
  • Implement and utilize continuous quality improvement standards.
  • Review & approve plan for Product Improvement and new development.
  • Productivity Management: Maintain production schedules while preserving all quality control and assurance processes, procedures, and checks.
  • Serve as a chief advisor to operations regarding quality issues and operational compliance with quality processes.
  • Leadership: Recruit & hire, lead, and manage any qualified quality professionals needed to support operations.
  • Comply with human resources and personnel-related procedures.
  • Verify quality staff competence and personnel training need for improving job performance.
  • Delegate and designate authority to qualified persons to act on your behalf and in the best interest of the company.
  • Officially form and empower groups or teams for the purpose of process improvement, cost reduction, review of results, cross-functional learning, etc.
  • Terminations & Coaching: Terminate employees when appropriate. Act in the best interest of the company by seeking counsel when making determinations of a less obvious nature. Thoroughly document all incidents and details.
  • Development: Train, guide, and/or mentor subordinate talent so to prepare for their growth and extension of contributions. Routinely follow up with all subordinate personnel and develop a critical understanding of their productivity, strengths & opportunities, and position duties. Verify quality staff competence and personnel training need for improving job performance Utilize principles of succession planning as a critical component of sustainability.
  • Build and maintain communication and respect between management and all plant personnel.
  • Directly supervise employees in quality department as assigned. Plan work schedules, assign tasks, appraise performance, reward and discipline employees, authorizing paid time off, address complaints and issues, interview and hire.
  • Safety: Remain, at all times, conscious of safety and adhere to the protocols and safety policies and best practices. Assist with the development and implementation of safety policies and procedures and formal Safety Manual / safety policies as applicable. Ensure that all areas of operations have safety training to meet employees’ needs, and that training is accurately delivered and tracked. Ensure all equipment, including guards and PPE and first aid, are available, adequate, in repair, and used.
  • Response: Ensure all accidents are addressed immediately, and then reported according to protocol. Ensure all follow-up to accidents is completed and documented. Ensure that collaboration between management and safety representatives occurs in a timely manner.
  • ENVIRONMENTAL: Ability to work most effectively in an industrial workshop field setting, while capable of managing tools, inventory, and equipment as part of the daily work activities and management. Wet and humid conditions / subject to outdoor weather conditions such as heat. Moderate to high noise.
