About The Position

We are seeking an Ophthalmic Assistant Apprentice to: • Join the UW Health Ophthalmic Assistant Apprenticeship Program which is designed for those interested in becoming an ophthalmic assistant. • Attend in person classes and clinicals. • Upon successful completion of the program, you will be interviewed and may be placed in an ophthalmic assistant position within UW Health. • Gain hands on experience in direct patient care tasks, visual acuities, processes, and procedures in an ophthalmology setting. Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent and formal acceptance into the UW Health Medical, Ophthalmology or Nursing Assistant Clinical Apprentice Program Required
  • 1 year of prior work experience Required
  • No certification required.

  • Basic Life Support / CPR
