About The Position

Work Schedule: 100% FTE, 40 hours per week. Shifts scheduled Monday – Friday, 8:00 am – 4:30 pm. Hours may vary based on the needs of the clinic. We are seeking an Ophthalmic Assistant Apprentice to: Join the UW Health Ophthalmic Assistant Apprenticeship Program which is designed for those interested in becoming an ophthalmic assistant. Attend in person classes and clinicals. Upon successful completion of the program, you will be interviewed and may be placed in an ophthalmic assistant position within UW Health. Gain hands on experience in direct patient care tasks, visual acuities, processes, and procedures in an ophthalmology setting. Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent and formal acceptance into the UW Health Medical, Ophthalmology or Nursing Assistant Clinical Apprentice Program
  • 1 year of prior work experience
