About The Position

The Apprentice Interiors Mechanic is an entry-level learning position designed to develop the foundational skills required for aircraft interior removal, installation, and modifications. Working under close supervision in both a classroom environment and hands-on workshop setting, the apprentice will train using aircraft interior components, mock‑ups, and simulated assemblies in preparation for future work on operational aircraft. The program focuses on building technical proficiency, safety awareness, craftsmanship, and familiarity with industry standards for aircraft interior maintenance and modification.

Requirements

  • High School education or equivalent reading, writing, and math abilities.
  • Strong interest in aviation interiors and willingness to learn.
  • Ability to follow instructions and work in a team environment.
  • Basic mechanical aptitude preferred.
  • Effective communication skills.
  • Proficient in the use of basic hand tools and equipment.
  • Effective computer skills; Microsoft Office software and other company and discipline specific software applications.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills.
  • Effective analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Must be detail oriented with the ability to multi-task.
  • Ability and willingness to work extended hours, when needed.
  • Read, write, and understand the English language.
  • Read, analyze, and interpret complex regulatory documents, technical documents, engineering drawings, regulations, procedures and manuals.

Responsibilities

  • Participate in classroom instruction and hands-on workshop training to learn aircraft interior removal, installation, and modification.
  • Develop proficiency in reading and interpreting interior drawings, material specs, company process standards, and aircraft maintenance manuals under guided instruction.
  • Under close supervision, assist in performing planned interior maintenance and modification tasks while adhering to established procedures and quality standards.
  • Learn to document all interior-related work in accordance with the Repair Station Manual, Quality System Manual, and applicable regulatory requirements, including correct completion of all forms and job documentation throughout each task.
  • Assist in preparing, organizing, and submitting required documentation to Quality Control at appropriate project stages.
  • Learn to accurately record material usage, production data, quality checks, and time-keeping information related to interior work.
  • Participate in ongoing coaching and feedback sessions to improve techniques, craftsmanship, and understanding of interior processes.
  • Engage in safety training and learn to identify, inspect, and report any suspected non-airworthy conditions related to interior components, materials, or equipment.
  • Promptly report issues encountered during assignments and participate in learning effective troubleshooting methods for interior-related problems.
  • Learn to identify and report any unserviceable tooling, machinery, or equipment required for efficient production.
  • Work toward completing assigned tasks within allotted timeframes while maintaining high standards of quality, following direction from trainers, leads, or supervisors.
  • Maintain a safe, organized, and clean work environment in accordance with company policies and safety procedures.
  • Complete all required initial and recurrent training in a timely manner.
  • Other duties may be assigned
