About The Position

UniFirst First Aid + Safety is seeking an Apprentice Fire Safety Specialist to join our community. As an Apprentice Fire Safety Specialist you will be focusing on learning and assisting with the inspection, service, repair, and maintenance of portable fire extinguishers and emergency/exit lighting systems. Under the guidance of experienced technicians, you will train in fire safety practices, provide support to team members, and help grow our customer base through sales and service promotion . Our standard is a 5-day work week, enjoy two days off a week. We have an immediate opening and provide on the job training. Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent is required.
  • Valid driver's license and safe driving record required.
  • Must be 18 years of age or older.
  • No prior experience is required; willingness to learn fire extinguisher and emergency lighting maintenance is essential.
  • Ability to lift up to 75 lbs.

Nice To Haves

  • Experienced in sales and upselling additional fire/safety-related products and services is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Learn to conduct inspections, service, repair, and maintenance of portable fire extinguishers and emergency/exit lighting systems under supervision.
  • Learn, implement and follow NFPA 10 standards.
  • Provide technical support to experienced technicians during monthly and annual inspections to ensure NFPA 10 compliance.
  • Assist in training team members on fire extinguisher and emergency/exit lighting inspection, service, and repair techniques.
  • Help inspect and test emergency egress lighting and exit signs as needed, supporting team coverage during vacations and/or absences.
  • Participate in onsite customer audits, assisting with quotes for fire extinguisher services.
  • Support demonstrations of fire-related products and services to customers, collaborating with the service team to ensure satisfaction.
  • Assist in selling and promoting fire extinguisher services and products to expand our customer base.
  • Receive training on fire services inspection software to support team efficiency.
