About The Position

At RTX BBN Technologies we invent new science by applying radical cross-disciplinary techniques to prototype systems in order to prove concept viability. This is especially evident in our Physical Systems and Sciences group, located in Middletown/Newport, Rhode Island, where scientists and engineers anticipate the future in both very large and very small-scale scientific systems that often need to survive challenging operational environments. We are seeking qualified and eager interns to become an integral part of this work. You will join a project team designing, analyzing, and prototyping innovative multi-domain system architectures. You will contribute to creating new algorithms and paradigms in critical areas such as positioning, navigation and timing, communication and networking, and detection and classification within extremely harsh or hostile environments. You will learn strategies for both free form thinking and disciplined application. You will hone your oral and written presentation skills. You will work with extraordinarily skilled team members, from project leadership to fellow interns.
