What your day will look like: Under supervision, you will be involved in the entire educational day of children. This position will be 37.5 hours per week. Requirements

• H.S. Diploma or equivalency.
• Ability to lift, carry, pull, push or otherwise move 25 to 50 pounds.
• Ability to walk or stand for extended periods.
• Establish and maintain cooperative working relationships.

Responsibilities

• Assisting in the learning activities of children who have multiple cognitive, behavior, emotional and medical abilities.
• Provide various clerical and instructional support for the instructional teacher.
• Assisting in the individual or small group instruction of students on individualized goals.
• Ensure that the individual student performance levels, needs and abilities are supported.
• Assist students off the bus and into the building, and out of the building and on the bus.
• Assist students as they learn how to serve themselves at lunch and assist with feeding.
• Assist students in learning toileting, which may include assisting in the restroom, changing diapers, and assisting with other medical needs.
• Lifting students into and out of wheelchairs.
• Assist in behavior management of students and maintaining a safe atmosphere for students in your care.
• Receive Crisis Prevention Intervention (CPI) Training.
• Collaborate with teachers and other paraprofessionals in the applied skills classrooms.
