About The Position

The primary purpose of this position is to design, develop, maintain, enhance, document, and support computer applications for the Radiation Protection Section of the Division of Health Service Regulation. This includes gathering requirements from users, designing databases and applications, programming, testing applications, implementing applications, training, and supporting users in the use of their applications. This work will involve maintaining superior customer relationships across the section and an understanding of the business functions and the technology components of the department. This includes maintaining and developing applications using: • C#, .NET, Microsoft IIS, SQL, and GitHub • Agile frameworks like Scrum or Kanban This includes: • Understanding business requirements and translating them into specific software requirements. • General IT architectural principles, technical designs, and specifications. • learning new software systems and programming languages by studying available references and self-paced training. • Communicating verbally and in writing with non-technical clients.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or an IT related field or related technical degree from an appropriately accredited institution and two years of experience in business application consulting or development OR Associate degree in computer science or an IT related field from an appropriately accredited institution and three years of experience in application consulting or development OR High School or General Educational Development (GED) diploma and six years of experience in business application consulting or development OR An equivalent combination of education and experience
